While looking for the best sleep trackers, you’ll quickly learn that there are actually quite a few different types of these tools available. Worry not - before we jump into the actual list in question, I’ll tell you all about the main types of these trackers, and a few guidelines of how you can pick the right one for yourself.

Best Sleep Trackers: What Are They, and Why Are They Useful?
So, then - you want to get yourself the best sleep tracker around. Well, the very first thing that you’ll need to do is learn about all of the different things that the best sleep monitors can do, and then decide on the type of device that you’d like to purchase.
Believe me - there are quite a few of these types available! You have your best sleep tracker apps, watches, pads, remote devices… You name it!
That said, whether it be the best wearable sleep tracker or one that you’d place on your coffee table, near the bed - all of them are going to function with the solemn goal of tracking your sleep in mind.
Now, searching for and choosing the best sleep trackers, you should understand that there are basically two big groups to pick from - wearable trackers, and remote ones.
Wearable (or Closely-Located) Sleep Trackers
The best wearable sleep trackers are considered by many to be the most accurate devices in this category. It makes sense - if you have the product so close to your body (oftentimes - literally on it) while you sleep, it’s bound to be more accurate than one that’s placed on the other side of the room.
That said, some trackers in this group aren’t actually literally “wearable” - instead, you might come across some pads that are meant to be placed under your sheets, or any other, similar monitors. This doesn’t change the sentiment, though - wearable and near-placed sleep trackers are generally seen as the more-reliable alternative to remote ones.
The most popular (and by the court of public opinion - perhaps even the best) wearable trackers are a specific type of watches that you might find being offered by some companies out there - I’m referring to the smart, sleep health-dedicated devices.

Remote Sleep Trackers
While remote devices usually aren’t really thought of when looking for the best sleep trackers, they do have their own benefits, too.
First of all, the best sleep tracker apps fall into this category. These apps can be standalone trackers, or can accompany some sort of a specific device. Needless to say, standalone apps are going to be the least-effective in measuring the quality of your sleep.
The “remote” category also houses some of the best sleep monitors taht can be placed anywhere in your bedroom. These devices measure some specific criteria during the night (i.e. the sounds that you make), and come up with conclusions out of the results gathered.
As noted earlier, the main complaint that customers have with this type of “best sleep trackers” is that they are often too inaccurate. With a sleep-tracking watch, for example, you could perhaps filter in the fact that you’ve been exercising for the past couple of months (physical exercise improves the quality of sleep[1]) - this is likely an important factor for sleep tracking!
Why so many people tend to experience difficulties sleeping?
Stress is one of the biggest contributors to sleep difficulties. Our anxious thoughts, racing minds, and busy lifestyles make it very difficult for us to clear our minds and 'let go' when we get into bed at the end of the day. Screens also have a negative impact on our sleep, inhibiting melatonin production, and making it difficult for us to fall asleep at night.
1. Withings Sleep Tracker - A Pad That Tracks Lots of Data
Ranks #1 out of 5 Mattresses
- + Multiple different functions
- + No-contact sleep tracker
- + Smart device connectivity
- - Only suitable for one person at a time
No matter how many customer best sleep tracker reviews you visit and read through, chances are that Withings is going to be a brand name that you see come up time and time again. That is because the brand truly does offer some of the best sleep monitors in the industry. Today we’ll take a look at their Sleep tracking pad.
As the name implies, the tracker in question is a pad that you purchases and place under your mattress. All you have to do then is install a specific app and go to sleep - the sleep-tracking pad will do the rest.
The thing that customers seem to love the most about Withing Sleep is the fact that there are many different aspects that the device tracks. Apart from snoring and heart rate, Withings Sleep is actually able to track your sleep cycles (including REM) - that’s nothing to scoff at! Information like that can be truly valuable to all types of sleep research, whether related to memory[2], sleep health, or else.
Another cool feature with the product in question will, unfortunately, work only for those who have smart home devices - the pad can be configured to automatically dim lights or change the temperature upon you getting into bed. While it certainly isn’t an essential feature, it’s still something that’s nice to have, and that shows the technological advancement of the product.
Now, when it comes to the best sleep trackers, Withings Sleep seems to have but a single inconvenience - it can only track one person’s sleep at a time. This means that, if you sleep with your significant other, you won’t really be able to track both of your sleep - you’ll need a separate device for that.
What is the Price of the Withings Sleep Tracker?
The best sleep trackers cam get rather expensive - that makes sense. Depending on the type of a device that you’re looking for, and just how many things there are that you want to track, the price tags can really get “up there”.
That said, Withing Sleep isn’t actually as expensive as you might initially come to think. If you were to purchase the product from the company’s official webpage, it would cost you $99,95 + any shipping expenses.
Considering all of the different features that this device provides, that’s definitely a fair price.
2. Emfit QS - A Unique Sleep Tracking Solution
Ranks #2 out of 5 Mattresses
- + Will work best for professional athletes
- + Unique sleep tracking technology
- + A wide variety of trackable features
- - Might be a bit too expensive for some
The majority of sleep trackers that you’ll come across online are created for and meant to be used by anyone and everyone who wants to get some intel on their sleep, and find different ways to improve it.
Emfit QS is a bit different in that regard - it’s not really a sleep tracker for “everyone”.
Now, don’t get me wrong - anyone could definitely purchase and use Emfit’s device in their own regard. That said, the full capabilities of this sleep tracker are only going to be unlocked by the most physically active people.
Emfit QS is often used by professional athletes in order to track how well they’ve rested, and if “how hard” they should go with their training in the days ahead. The tracker works by measuring your heartbeats - the results that you’ll see in the morning should tell you how well your body has managed to rest throughout the night.
Other than its main, unique features, the Emfit QS does come with your standard, high-end sleep tracking features, too - movements, sleep stages and so on.
What is the Price of the Emfit QS Sleep Tracker?
While many people believe that the Emfit QS+Active is the best sleep tracker around, this belief really does show when you take a look at the price of the product.
Without a doubt, Emfit QS is one of the most expensive devices you’ll come across.
Purchasing the tracker from the brand’s official online store, it will cost you $249. Additionally, if you live in the US, shipping will add an extra $20 to your final price - it will be $45 for Canadian citizens.
While the price might seem rather high, the company does provide its customers with a 2-year limited warranty.
3. Beddit 3.5 - A High-End Sleep Tracker
Ranks #3 out of 5 Mattresses
- + Multiple sleep tracking features
- + Snoring tracker
- + Easy-to-read information display within the app
- - Might be a bit uncomfortable throughout the night
Beddit is a company that was purchased by Apple not that long ago - this is why you’ll notice that, when you go to purchase the product, you’ll end up on the Apple online shop.
The device in question - Beddit 3.5 - is often considered to be one of the best sleep trackers in the current market. There are a few reasons why that’s the case.
First of all, customers report that, as far as the best sleep tracker apps are concerned, the Beddit app is actually very easy to navigate and understand. The information about your sleep is provided in a clear manner, and there are visual cues, too.
Furthermore, there’s quite a bit of that information to look at - Beddit 3.5 tracks everything from snoring up to the humidity levels of the room.
Customers also note that the information sees to be reliable and accurate - while that’s an issue that many of the lower-end sleep trackers seem to face extensively, it’s not going to be something that you’d need to think about while using Beddit 3.5.
What is the Price of the Beddit 3.5 Sleep Tracker?
Truth be told, while Beddit 3.5 might not be the most expensive sleep tracking device out there (especially when compared to some other high-end, performance-based products, such as Emfit QS+Active), it’s still not too affordable, either.
Bought from the Apple online store, Beddit 3.5 will cost you $149,95. You’ll also receive free shipping with your purchase, too.

Compare Mattresses Side by Side With Others
All mattresses may look similar to you but they're NOT all the same!
Yes! Show me the Comparison Chart4. ResMed S+ - A Remote, High-Quality Sleep Tracker
Ranks #4 out of 5 Mattresses
- + Amazing functionality
- + Multiple different functions
- + Plays relaxing sounds
- + Very affordable
- - Remote sleep tracker
- - Drains phone batter rather excessively
I’ve mentioned at the beginning of this article that the “best wearable sleep trackers are the way to go”, and that most people choose to avoid remote devices because they tend to be more inaccurate than the former.
Well, ResMed S+ is the one exception - the company’s customers will tell you that it’s a remarkable sleep tracker.
The S+ tracks your sleep cycles, has the option to wake you up at the right time (depending on the before-mentioned cycles), plays relaxing and calming sounds, provides compared and contrasted sleep results and has many more unique features.
The fact that the device is remote, though, means that you’ll have to keep your phone connected to it all throughout the night. That said, it’s surely a non-issue.
What is the Price of the ResMed S+ Sleep Tracker?
Believe it or not, even with all of the top-tier, best sleep tracker-like features that the S+ provides, it’s actually one of the most affordable devices on this list. You could find it for as low as $55,95, excluding shipping rates.
Add the fact that ResMed is considered to be a trustworthy company by most, and you have yourself a great sleep tracking option on your hands.
5. Fitbit Versa 2 - The Best Wearable Sleep Tracker?
Ranks #5 out of 5 Mattresses
- + High-end smartwatch
- + Various different sleep-related functions
- + Sleek design
- - Might be too expensive for some
Out of all smartwatches that track your sleep out there, Fitbit Versa 2 is often considered to be the most reliable, high-end product to date.
The watch provides the wearer with extensive information about their sleep - stages, quality scores, tips, and so on. You’re bound to receive all of the most important and vital information about your sleep right there, on your wrist.
Furthermore, the Fitbit Versa 2 watch also has many different functions that deal with wellness, overall - your daily burned calories, time spent moving and staying in place, female health-specific features - you name it!
What is the Price of the Fitbit Versa 2 Sleep Tracker?
The Fitbit Versa 2 smartwatch will cost you anywhere from $199,99 up to $229,99, depending on your choice of wristbands. While that’s certainly on the more expensive side of things, the price does make sense, given the general quality and functionality of the product.
